Mark Harrington, a true inspiration, didn't let a battle with bowel cancer stop him. Instead, he channeled his experience into something extraordinary: scaling Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for fellow sufferers. Joined by his friend Dean Hands, both hailing from Warwickshire, Mark embarked on this incredible journey to give back after his own recovery.
They faced the daunting challenge head-on, ascending from base camp to the summit in just four days. Imagine the conditions: battling snowfall and freezing temperatures at high altitude!

This isn't the first time Mark and Dean have shown their commitment to fundraising. Last year, they cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats, a feat that led to the opening of the Harrington Suite, a new colorectal care facility at Warwick Hospital, named in Mark's honor. The suite opened in May after Mark raised £9,320 for the charity.
A SWFT Charity spokesperson praised their "resilience and determination," highlighting how their efforts will enhance bowel cancer treatment.
